A foundational piece of new head coach Robert Saleh’s defence isn’t going anywhere.
Simmons, 29, had two years remaining on a four-year extension signed in 2023 but will extend his stay with the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft on the richest deal for a defensive tackle in NFL history, per reports.
A one-time All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler, Simmons has 42.5 sacks and 66 tackles for loss across seven seasons, including career highs in both categories during a 2025 season that saw him notch 11 sacks and 17 TFLs.
Now, the newly extended Simmons will try to help lead a refurbished defensive line that added a trio of contributors this off-season, including John Franklin-Myers, Jermaine Johnson, and Solomon Thomas.
