Senators, Xavier Bourgault settle in arbitration

It marks the first arbitration settlement of the NHL off-season.

Bourgault, 23, is set to earn $850,000 at the NHL level and $265,000 in the AHL.

The L’islet, Que., native was the 22nd-overall pick of the 2021 draft by the Edmonton Oilers, and was traded to Ottawa in the summer of 2024.

He made his NHL regular-season debut with the Senators last season, playing in two games for a total of 11:55 of time on ice. He logged three shots on goal and three hits in that span.

Bourgault spent most of the season with the AHL’s Belleville Senators, racking up a career-high 57 points (25 goals, 32 assists) through 70 games.
