The first Canadian is off the board in the 2026 MLB Draft.
Indiana State outfielder Carter Beck was selected 26th overall by the Atlanta Braves with a pick in the prospect promotion incentive round.
Beck, 21, was the 2026 Missouri Valley Conference Joe Carter Player of the Year after slashing .346/.446/.637 with 16 homers in 57 games for the Sycamores.
A native of Carnduff, Sask, Beck was also named to the All-Conference First Team and the All-Defensive Team.
Beck was ranked as the No. 69 player in the class by Baseball America.
He joins Virginia outfielder AJ Gracia as players selected by Atlanta in the top 30 of the 2026 draft.
