The Vancouver Whitecaps have acquired Canadian forward Kwasi Poku via transfer from Belgium’s RWDM Brussels, the team announced on Thursday.
Poku and the Whitecaps have agreed to a deal through the 2027-28 MLS season, with a club option for 2028-29.
The 23-year-old racked up six goals in 31 appearances over two seasons in Belgium.
Before competing in Europe, Poku played for Forge FC for three seasons, where he was a two-time Canadian Premier League winner. He contributed 12 goals in 22 appearances during that time.
The Brampton, Ontario, native was also called up to the Canada men’s national team in 2024, where he came off the bench in a friendly against Panama. Poku becomes the eighth Canadian on the Whitecaps roster.
