A week after the Blue Jays acquired prospect Ryan Sprock from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for Tommy Nance, they assigned the 21-year-old to the high-A Vancouver Canadians, per Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith.
Sprock was originally an eighth-round pick in the 2025 draft by the Twins, and has spent his brief professional career in their system with their single- and high-A affiliates.
The majority of Sprock’s 2026 season has been spent with the single-A Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, where he has played third base, catcher and in the outfield. Across 67 games in the minors, he’s batted .297 with five home runs and 14 stolen bases this season.
Sprock joins a Canadians team that is last in the Northwest League, at 37-50. They have, however, enjoyed a minor upswing lately — with back-to-back wins helping them improve to 5-5 in their last 10 games.
Vancouver resumes play after the all-star break on Friday night as it opens a three-game set on the road against Tri-City.
