Blue Jays claim OF Rudy Martin Jr. from Orioles

The Toronto Blue Jays have added some outfield depth.

The Blue Jays claimed Rudy Martin Jr. from the Baltimore Orioles, Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi reported on Thursday.

Martin will be assigned to the triple-A Buffalo Bisons.

The 30-year-old has posted a .284 average, .414 OBP and .855 OPS with eight home runs between double-A and triple-A in 2026.

Martin is known for his speed, having 33 stolen bases on the season and 227 in his minor league career.

Martin was designated for assignment by the Orioles on July 20, just days after the team acquired him from the Kansas City Royals.

He was a 25th-round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals in 2014.

He has not reached the major leagues, bouncing between minor-league levels since being drafted.
