The Blue Jays have traded veteran righty reliever Tommy Nance to the Minnesota Twins for prospect Ryan Sprock, Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith reported Friday.
Nance, 35, has been a solid contributor for Toronto this season, pitching to a 3.82 ERA with a 1.273 WHIP in 32 appearances. He has 34 strikeouts in 33 innings of work.
The Long Beach, Calif., native has spent the last three seasons with the Blue Jays, logging 86.2 innings over 82 appearances while putting up a 3.22 ERA.
Sprock, meanwhile, was selected by the Twins in the eighth round of the 2025 draft as a collegiate prospect.
The 21-year-old has lined up at third base, catcher and in the outfield while playing in the Twins’ minor-league system at the single-A and high-A levels.
In 67 games, most of which came with the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels in single-A, Sprock has a .297 batting average with a .855 OPS, five home runs and 14 stolen bases.
The Morristown, N.J., native played his three years of collegiate ball at Elon University.
