It was a day of close calls for Canadian golf.
Taylor Pendrith became the second Canadian to lose in a playoff on Sunday when he fell short against Steven Fisk on the third extra hole at the PGA Tour’s ISCO Championship in Louisville, Ky.
Earlier, Canada’s Brooke Henderson dropped a playoff against Haeran Ryu at the LPGA Tour’s Evian Championship in France.
Pendrith, from Richmond Hill, Ont., missed an 11-foot birdie for a win on the first playoff hole. Both players parred the first two playoff holes before Fisk made par and Pendrith had a bogey on the par-4 18th, being played for a third time after the hole location was changed.
The 35-year-old Pendrith fell just short of his second career PGA Tour title. He last won in 2024 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
The Canadian hadn’t notched a top-10 finish since tying for sixth at the season-opening Sony Open in Hawaii. He was 97th in the FedExCup standings entering the event.
Pendrith charged into a playoff with a 5-under 65 in the final round to finish at 16 under.
Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ont., tied for third at 15 under, while Mackenzie Hughes of Hamilton, Ont., tied for 10th at 12 under.
