Spencer Carbery isn’t going anywhere.
The Washington Capitals and their head coach agreed to a multi-year contract extension on Wednesday, sources confirmed to Sportsnet.
Carbery, 44, just completed his third season as the bench boss in Washington.
The Capitals missed the playoffs last season, but advanced to the post-season in each of Carbery’s first two seasons at the helm.
Carbery won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s top coach in 2024-25 after he led Washington to a 51-22-9 record.
Before joining the Capitals, Carbery spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
