NHL veteran Kyle Calder has died at age 47, the NHL Alumni announced on Tuesday.
No cause of death was given.
Calder, of Mannville, Alta., spent parts of 11 seasons in the NHL, tallying 114 goals and 180 assists over 590 games.
He also won a silver medal as part of Canada’s world junior team in 1999, registering eight points in seven games.
Calder entered the league as a fifth-round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 1997 and made his NHL debut with the team during the 2009-10 season.
He went on to play parts of six seasons with Chicago, including a career-high 59 points (26 goals, 33 assists) in 2005-06.
Calder also played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks. He last appeared in the NHL during the 2009-10 season before bouncing around the AHL ahead of his retirement.
