Maple Leafs sign Tverberg, Quillan and Villeneuve to contracts

Tverberg, a seventh-round pick of the Leafs in 2020, made his NHL debut last season, appearing in two games for the Buds. Across 87 games for the AHL affiliate Marlies, he posted 50 points — including 14 in the team’s run to the Calder Cup.

After going undrafted following a collegiate career at Quinnipiac, Quillan signed a two-year entry-level deal with Toronto in April 2024. He made his NHL debut the following season, before a 23-game stint with the Leafs last year. For the champion Marlies, Quillan totalled 36 points last season.

Defenceman Villeneuve was a fourth-round selection of Toronto in the 2020 draft, and has been a regular on the Marlies’ blue line over the last four seasons. The 2025-26 season saw him make his NHL debut, as he appeared in three games for the Maple Leafs.
