Defenceman Ryan Shea signed a five-year, $20-million deal with the Pacific Division club, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Wednesday.
The move comes shortly after the Oilers traded long-time defenceman Darnell Nurse to the San Jose Sharks.
Shea, 29, skated in 80 games with the Penguins last season, recording six goals and 29 assists.
The Milton, Mass., native has spent parts of three campaigns in the NHL with Pittsburgh, playing 150 games with nine goals and 32 assists.
He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fourth round in 2015, but did not come to terms with the team and signed with the Dallas Stars out of Northeastern University in 2020.
Shea never got into a game with the Stars before moving on to the Penguins, where his NHL career blossomed.
