The Ottawa Charge are moving to the Canadian Tire Centre.
The Charge, one of the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s original six teams, will share the arena with the NHL’s Senators.
The Charge played out of TD Place in their first three seasons, but planned renovations to reduce the arena’s capacity by about 2,000 seats to less than 6,000 was unacceptable to the team.
Senators president and chief executive officer Cyril Leeder joined the Charge in making the announcement today in Ottawa.
The Charge played all four of their playoff games in Canadian Tire Centre this spring with an average attendance of just over 13,000.
They also drew a crowd of 17,114 to a regular-season game there April 3 against the Montreal Victoire.
