Report: Algeria files complaint with FIFA over Messi tackle

The Algerian Football Federation is not too happy with FIFA.

Algeria has filed a complaint with FIFA regarding the refereeing decisions in their 3-0 loss to Argentina, according to The Athletic.

The complaint is centred around Lionel Messi’s tackle of Algeria captain Aissa Mandi in the 30th minute. Messi caught Mandi’s calf and Achilles tendon with his studs up.

The official called a foul on the play, but did not punish Messi with a card.

Messi went on to score a hat trick in Argentina’s dominating win to open its World Cup.

There are two other plays Algeria is complaining about, one being an elbow on Hadj Moussa.
