A defensive menace is headed to Los Angeles.
The Lakers signed two-time All-Defence member Matisse Thybulle to a one-year, $3.3-million contract, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Monday.
Thybulle, 29, spent the past three-and-a-half seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers after beginning his career with four-and-a-half seasons as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.
In 30 games last season, the Australian registered 5.8 points, two rebounds and two steals in 16 minutes per contest. Over 377 career games, he holds per-game averages of five points, two rebounds and 1.6 steals.
A first-round pick in 2019, Thybulle made the All-Defence second team in both 2021 and 2022 while with the 76ers.
He marks the latest move in a busy off-season for the Lakers, who watched LeBron James leave but added Walker Kessler, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Quentin Grimes, Collin Sexton and Kevon Looney.
