The New Orleans Saints are retaining their longtime running back.
Alvin Kamara and the Saints have agreed to a new deal that will keep the five-time Pro Bowler in New Orleans, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported on Wednesday.
New Orleans Football’s Nick Underhill first reported the news.
The Saints signed former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne to a four-year, $52-million deal during the off-season, leading to speculation that Kamara could be on his way out the door going into the final season of his old contract.
“Alvin’s goal, and the team’s goal, was for him to remain with the Saints and retire a Saint,” Kamara’s agent, Brad Cicala, told Garafolo.
The 30-year-old tallied 657 scrimmage yards and only one touchdown last season, both career lows.
He now stands to share backfield touches with Etienne in 2026 and beyond.
