‘So ready’: Fans savouring long-awaited Hurricanes’ championship parade

Fans in Raleigh, N.C., are celebrating once more after waiting two long decades.

The Carolina Hurricanes made sure of it by winning the franchise’s second Stanley Cup title and first since 2006. The 2025-26 squad finally broke through after seven failed playoff runs in a row — which included three Conference Final appearances — before taking down the Vegas Golden Knights in six games last week.

A victory that Hurricanes fans are now ready to celebrate at the team’s customary championship parade on Saturday.

Back on top of the hockey world after 20 years, here are some of the best moments from the ticker-tape celebrations.
