Tiger-Cats sign veteran Canadian receiver Smith to contract extension

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed veteran Canadian receiver Kiondre Smith to a contract extension Tuesday.

Smith is now under contract with Hamilton through the 2027 campaign.

The six-foot-one, 180-pound Smith is in his fifth CFL season, all with Hamilton. Smith had 86 catches for 1,126 yards and five TDs last season, his first 1,000-yard campaign with the Ticats.

The 26-year-old native of Markham, Ont., has appeared in 76 regular-season games with Hamilton, registering 253 receptions for 3,336 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.

Hamilton selected Smith in the fourth round, No. 37 overall, in the 2022 CFL draft out of Guelph.
